Fish Story-Fish steals rod & reel, only to be caught!!!! 2008

In June 2008 I went fishing near Sandy Hook, New Jersey with my friends Ashok and his son Yash from Yash Liquors on Washington Street in Hoboken. After putting bait on a few rods and putting them in the rod holders, I noticed my brand new rod and reel was missing from the rod holder. I pick up the back rod and felt I had a fish on. After reeling in the rod and then seeing the hook attached to the missing rod, I carefully reeled the line in and Yash grabbed the rod. Next I tried to reel in the fish that was on and Ashok helped untangled a birds nest that I had in the reel. After not being able to get the line straigten out, I took the line in by hand and got the Blue Fish in also, by hand. The video clip shows the rod in the air coming in and the episode after, with proof the fish was caught. This was a very unusal happening. The fish thought he was safe and took the whole rod in with him, only to be caught fifteen minutes later. Video by Me, Ashok, and Yash.

Cool story man. I've heard of this happening to others. Sometimes the rod was caught and returned by someone else.

best fishing story the rod fell out of my sons hands and it was the rod i cault my biggest fish so i was pretty pissed but we went to go for another drift and all of a sudden i get a tug and im reeling i think its a killer and its my rod and im flippy in joy im was so happy it was a great fishing day
