"I remember at the beginning of production that there was some controversy - some friction with the German government about Tom Cruise's Scientology, and as I understand Scientology is banned in Germany[1]. How was this resolved, and did Tom's devotion to Scientology continue to cause issues either on or off the set?"

You might find you want to go a little way into it, a long way, or just to think about it and see how that works upon your heart.

With it you may end up being successful actor whose dyslexia condition was cured through dianetic therapy.
