How to "make" a simple parrot treat toy!

Simply core and peel an apple! Find suitable bird safe string (I used a shoelace with the plastic ends cut off), tie to the roof of the cage and watch your bird have a fab time tearing it apart! COME JOIN US! www.reptileparrots.com

This should not be done too often as the sugar content is high in apples. If you are lucky enough to have a birdo who enjoys raw veg, then this would be great fun also!

Bear in mind, your bird will waste most of the apple so prepare for a clean up and try to pick an apple managable to your birds size to prevent spoilage. Also, make sure with apples that all the core is gone. The seeds are poisonous.

Cal had this for 20mins before I took the video. 10mins after that, only the shoelace remained!

On a balmy evening, this was the perfect treat straight from the fridge after a hard days playing in the sunshine outside ;)
