My wife is a Vet and thinks this terrible behavior. First only school boys would take a turtle and play with it (witch stresses it and can cause damage) and second never encourage a dog to engage their baser instincts. They will usually hurt something after playing with it. Huskies are very good hunters. Ours chews up box turtles like they're toys . You are inviting disaster. Your entertainment comes first. I wish people would grow up and start thinking a little and try to be compassionate.

Dude, no one has an issue with the dog swimming in a chlorine pool but the turtle is a problem??? What's the difference? I don't understand why people think everything is bad for animals. When your kids go swimming, i guarantee they are ingesting some water and they don't die.
Love the vid! Cute dog.

cool turtle
First... I saved the turtle from being smashed by a car. Second... It sounds like you should worry about your turtle eating husky before you lecture me. Third... You mean "which" and "basic"... Maybe you should let your educated wife do the commenting.

Actually, he loves swimming. He's been the first and last one in the pool every season for 5 years now... and will jump off the dock at the lake house... usually he gets a running start and jumps in. He's not as timid as he acts in these videos... Like I said, he's just not sure about that other thing.

I would push the dog into the water.

The dog usually jumps in to swim around on his own... He's being more cautious this time though since he has no clue what the hell that "other thing" in there is...

The turtle was in the pool for no more than 5 minutes, and I rinsed him off in fresh water before releasing him into a golf course pond.... He'll be just fine. A little bit of chlorine water was a small price to pay for me saving him from being smashed by a car.
