@forgottenmemories63 there is only one Buddhism which the Buddha even states this EKAYANA vehicle this is found in the sutras.well they split up and became many different temples and groups this actually doesnt matter the Buddha sent them out before he died the (66) to convert and start temples, with the dharma being the preceptor.

@Buddhist1986 Tell me, How many schools of Buddhists thought existed during the time of Buddha ? Just one. Then they split up and became many different schools of thought.
The Buddha himself never taught people any religion but how to live a happy and peaceful life. He went around helping people regardless of their religion with problems and never once did he ask them to follow him or convert. He was a Philosopher not someone that wanted to start a new religion and wanted people to follow him.

@forgottenmemories63 the Buddha actually did preach conversion,he taught to spread his teachings to all living beings, and he said that to take refuge in the Buddha and no other gods,he also states in the medicine master sutra to not follow any gods and only the Lord Buddha

Hmm.. I'm very early into Buddhism and trying to be compassionate but but this guy pisses me off. Jumped up little posh boy!
Hes right about one thing. There arent any dogmas in Buddhism and you arent forced to do certain things. But I disagree about where he said with going to the pub or doing what you want. Sure, you arent forced to refuse all alcohol or drugs...but a true Buddhist would in my opinion. Or at least a serious one would. I take the 5 precepts seriously. Buddhism isnt about doing whatever you want as long as you arent hurting anyone. Thats closer to satanism.

@UltimateBritney Are you crazy? There is no devils or demons. If you were able to understand the Torah in Hebrew you would understand that. Yes Jesus was an amazing teacher but that is all. No human can be a god because god does not exist.
