  • In PCI Data Storage Dos and Donts, the PCI council recommends as little storage as possible unless you have a legitimate business need. The logs that contain the CC data may also have important information about transactions that a business may need as part of an archive search, or for troubleshooting an application. These logs could certainly scale to the hundreds of terabytes.

  • PCI compliance by storing terabytes of data and billions of sessions? The folly is almost too much to stomach. Oh well, but I guess that was regulation is all about.
