@con1ah @con1ah You need to put away that thing called human pride which somehow tells you that you are the author, even the first cause of your salvation, because according to you God only chose you because of something you did. It is human pride and not meekness that makes the soul puff up and fiercely deny a Sovereign God's right to choose, His right to redeem sinners without them having done ANYTHING to earn it!

@con1ah Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
Rom 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

@con1ah Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Sorry left the caps on. Our good works come after we are converted not before. To say that God elects because of something we did prior to conversion is folly. Grace is grace. Grace is unmerited undeserved favor and there is nothing absolutely nothing man to make God choose him.

@con1ah Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
FAITH IS A GIFT, A FRUIT FROM GOD AND NOT A WORK TO MERIT FAVOR

@con1ah Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
He has made us alive! WHO WERE DEAD
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
WHEN WE WERE DEAD IN SINS, NOTHING ABOUT MERIT HERE JUST GRACE

@con1ahBrother God elects because of His will not because of our works.
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL(emphasis added)
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the COUNCEL OFF HIS OWN WILL: (emphasis added)
Mat_22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

@con1ah Brother you are batting one verse against a thousand. And even this verse you are quoting is not talking about everyone in the world, it is talking about His church.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
THE LORD IS LONGSUFFERING TO USWARD, TO US(THE CHURCH) NOT THE WORLD. THE LORD IS WAITING FOR HIS ELECT TO COME TO FAITH!

@con1ah I have left you with many CLEAR biblical proofs. The "proofs" you have given me have not given support for your argument and are easily reconciled. Try reconciling all the scriptural(and there are many more) verses I have given you with what you say. Try please try reconciling the very words of your LORD "I PRAY NOT FOR THE WORLD" with your view. Truly before you post again prayfully study this subject.

@con1ah So brother where you see a God electing a person for something he does, I see a doctrine of works. Where you see a God that is unjust in choosing people without merit, I see a God of grace. Where you see a God that is unjust in electing a people willy nilly, I see a sovereign mighty God. Where you see a God that is unjust in electing a people while condeming many, I see a God of mercy. EVERYONE deserves to go to hell. The fact the he pardons any at all is testimony to His mercy.

@con1ah Without the power of God we would not could not claim Jesus as our own.
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. If you think that you choose God by your own power and that GOD chooses you on this basis then you make GOD subject to your will and you choice.
