@jnthnbush That's utter nonsense. The navy is our greatest military power. They can stop anyone trying to invade by sea before they ever get close to our shores.

It is NOT the secretary of Defense that is at fault, it is the SYSTEM that is flawed. As long as we live in fear and finds the need of military structure, this will continue unabated as it is.
War is either declared by one leader or a committee, if we were to subject it to popular vote, it will NOT ever happen. Just send teams of people to negotiate and bash-each-other by hand, keep sending teams until an agreement is reached !. Thats how to prevent war. The system feeds on your fears!.
