The only one which was left! (but I intend to re-do the second one someday).
This is the most "carefree" of the Ballades. I play it in a very relaxed and slow-ish way.
I'll write what I wrote in the details for the first one again: these 4 pieces by Chopin are really something which must be played _personally_. There is a lot of freedom allowed, and you really have to play them the way you want to. They are so rich and well-composed that pretty much every bar can be played in many many different ways and still be very effective.
My favourite part of the piece is by far the buildup back to the original theme about 2 minutes before the end. It's just... grandiose. It's usually hard for me to restrain myself from singing that theme when it comes back too, but I did it for the video! (yeah, I don't like it when I hear Gould singing in his recordings). The way he uses both hands is just cool.
And that last arpeggio is just glorious.
I like it more when playing for you tube is that you feel cool, and perhaps feeling himself somewhat selfish (not take it personally that you play only as you please). but I want to compare you two pieces (when you play at a recital and at home): (boo and so far not successful. help me tell me how you feel? in both cases) and will know your soul behind the piano.

Wow Robin, I figure you must have heard this so many times, but I think I'm in love. You had me from 5:55. This is really great. I've listened to quite a number of interpretations, but I really really REALLY like yours. ;) I'd be looking out for your other videos, keep them coming!
