Go to Africa or Asia and look for your supposed plentiful "spacious apartments". Go to Mexico City or Calcutta & look for your 'termite nest" that has only a 'few hundred insects packed in". Go to the favelas of Rio De Janeiro and see how long you can survive with mulitple people sleeping in one bed, or worse yet, on the streets.

@popceed Actually, population would still go down if every couple had two kids, because kids (or their parents) sometimes manage to kill themselves (or others) somehow anyway. Even if they don't kill themselves, sometimes they're just unlucky and get a terminal illness at a very young age.

The population reduction, however, would be quite slow if everybody had two.

He is right. Nobody wants to admit the problem is overpopulation, but it's the truth. People will continue to have children though, and eventually the problem will be in our faces and we'll have to do something about it. That's when extremely bad things will happen that make previous wars pale in comparison. Luckily I won't be around.
