Chinese communist party increases military spending

The BBC reports the latest on defense spending in the mainland.

The CCP says it plans to increase military spending by nearly 18% this year to nearly 60 billion U.S. dollars.

Just before the announcement, the U.S. government released a report criticizing China's military spending, voicing concern over advances in space and cyberspace.

In the report, Washington claimed that the real Chinese defense budget for 2007 was at least double the stated amount.

Other nations have also expressed concern about China's growing military power. They say Beijing is not open enough about what it is spending its money on.

But U.S soldiers eats like 4 times more than Chinese soldiers. PLUS the American only use high-quality domestic-made foods to feed their troops, so the cost of those foods is like 5x more than the foods that are used to feed Chinese troops in China. Not to mention U.S soldiers can't sleep without air-conditioner (or heater). Further (most important) U.S soldiers' salary is like 50x more than Chinese soldiers'...You do the math..Hihihi

In these days, big & clumsy aircraft carriers re no use at all when having wars with big nations like russia, china, france, UK and USA. All wars in modern days are making good use of ballistic missiles. Namely, when USA air carriers re at sea area near china sea, this carrier will immediately targetted by china missile system and easily got sunk down by numerous land to sea missiles. So in these days, big air carriers are no f use at all. It is just a big toy at sea frightening small nations.
