Detroit: 3 Black Males Murder pregnant white woman.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -- 16-year-old Jerome Hamilton is one of three young men now charged in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Catherine Solinski-Blain. He was originally charged with first-degree murder. However, Assistant Oakland Prosecutor Robert Novy said Tuesday during a court hearing, "We've amended to open murder so that we can argue our theories."

Solinski-Blain was pregnant when shot to death last October outside the Rib Rack restaurant in Lathrup Village where she worked as a manager. Police believe robbery was the motive.

"I've been praying for the family that lost their daughter ... However, I know for sure my son is definitely not a murderer. He's a good kid," said Jerome Hamilton, Sr.

Also charged in the case is 20-year-old Brandon Davis of Southfield. He's accused of conspiracy to commit robbery and being an accessory after the fact. 19-year-old Deandre Sturges of Beverly Hills is charged with open murder.

Hamilton was 15 at the time of the murder and is the suspected triggerman. However, Hamilton's lawyer, Arnold Weiner, said no physical evidence links him to the crime.

The prosecutor said Hamilton bragged about being a member and recruiter for the Crips street gang. "The characterization was embellished greatly. Growing up in the inner city of Detroit, as we know it's a tough environment and there have been times when people tried to recruit my son to things and that hasn't happened," Hamilton's father said.

The judge denied bond for Hamilton, but refused a prosecution request to move him from the Oakland County Children's Village to the Oakland County Jail.
