FCP's own Zach Miller teaches you how to replace the valve cover gasket on your 1999-2006 3-Series BMW. Also applicable to E36 models.

If you have oil spots on the driveway, low oil levels between oil changes or have a burning smell coming from the engine bay this may be the cause.

  • 2005 545I LEAKS OLL OVER THE WORST ENGINE EVER BUT ALL BMW'S LEAKS OIL AFTER A WHILE WHAT A BULL SHIT BRAND

  • You are the man Zach! :-)

  • @millertimebmw - Better than that is 01 740iL with S62 M5 swap. You won't have to bad VANOS noise like the M62s

  • @IPGAuto I always wanted a 2001 740il (possible 540 6-speed swap ;)

  • @millertimebmw - I think they were crappy magnesium which were crap. The E38 was the best BMW I ever drove. I WILL be getting one again

  • @IPGAuto WOW the 4.4L V8 didn't leak? Maybe due to the metal valve covers?

  • @millertimebmw - Maybe. After 185k miles It might be. Idk, car is long gone though so no longer my problem. Only BMW I didnt have issue with was my 2001 740iL

  • @IPGAuto - Still no leaks!Fingers Crossed! How about your valve cover itself, maybe it had warped?

  • @millertimebmw - ELRING is ok. I cleaned it, actually used verrry smooth sandpaper and cleaned the surface perfect.

  • @oxOsicknessOxo True, thanks!

  • @charcoal530i Same thing! :)

  • @ez2012able They do not have one :(

  • @bamidbar2 Hello, do you know what color the leak is (use a white napkin to check).
