Sure is easy to connect two wires on the bench. Now go find a harness with 20 or 30 wires and tap into one in the middle. If you cut it it's too short to overlap and twist. So now you can start trying to remove the insulation from the middle without damaging the wire. And there's no way to get shrink tube on now, so go get the electrical tape and try to make that look neat. And for extra credit, do all that upside-down with your head under the dashboard.
