Srila Govinda Maharaj - Vyasa Puja 1990 Pt. 2 of 3 (Talk)

Cont. from Pt.1: Srila Gurudev addresses the devotees:
For those who do not know Bengali, for them it is necessary to tell something in English. But my English is very poor you know, but I am trying to tell something about this day's affairs. You know, when Srila Guru Maharaj (Srila Sridhar Maharaj) was present upstairs, there in his room, in1986 he gave me his service charge (or chair?) for the service of his devotees, deities and his mission, but I was very shy and I feel that I am not able to maintain this. But I have seen Guru Maharaja's desire, I have seen Guru Maharaja's attitude, I cannot say "No" It was very difficult for me to say "Maharaj, please don't give me (this responsibilty)" Anyhow, Guru Maharaj gave that charge, and not only that, he wants to establish his mission through me and he started this day's festival with my Godbrothers. And he himself also gave much enthusiasm to our Godbrothers that: "Today is Govinda Maharaja's birthday and you must arrange some big festival for his birthday and for our devotees" That way, when Guru Maharaj arranged this, I think it is my service to take that. When somebody will give something to me I am thinking it is not my property, guru gana sire punah sobha paya sata guna, whatever respect comes to me, if I can transfer that immediately to my Gurudev, then I have no difficulty. Kanak, kamini and pratistha (wealth, women and fame) Kanak means money or wealth, then kanak's proprietor is Narayan. Kamini's enjoyer is Krishna and the proprietor of fame is Gurudev. All fame must go to the lotus feet of Gurudev, then if I transfer your honour, if i transfer your respect, your love, everything to my Sri Guru Padpadma (lotus feet of my Guru) then I have no difficulty to take from yourselves. And, so that I can remember that, I am keeping my Gurudev's photo here as the incarnation of my Guru Maharaj, that is a deity you can say. (in Bengali I think Gurudev says that the deity can be made of various materials, one of them is a painted form) so my Gurudevs photo/painting is here and all your respect I am offering to my Gurudev, then i have no difficulty to take anything from yourselves.
