Rescue Merdeka Review Gig is a indie music fundraising & charity performance to uphold independent voice (merdekareview.com) in Malaysia. Xerpent is one of the nine acts of the show.

Xerpent is a boy band from Malaysia with four good looking young members and they aim to be the best boy band in town. Xerpent is playing the most trendy music in late 90s, *R&B music.

Xerpent is heavily influenced by the pop culture from Taiwan and Hong Kong, and they are a big fan of Jay Chou. You will find Xerpent's music easy to digest as it is played with extremely simple, repeating riffs and lyrics. However, you will find the lyrics and vocals incomprehensible as the vocalist imitates his idol, Jay Chou's singing style.

Sadly, Xerpent has been banned in competitions and appearance in local TV network. With great disappointment, they turn to indie scene, hoping to be discover and gain their fame.
