A generalised guide for how to use the ProBoolean tool in 3DS Max and how this can be used to quickly make fairly clean quad meshes for realtime/game engine use.

Please rate and comment. An 800x600 clearer version of this video along with my other screencasts can be bought each for a small donation.

Quick custom screencasts to help you solve a 3D problem can also be created for you.

  • yeh, 3dsmax10 is 100 times better than any of its predecessors because of its amazing new pro boolean, i made a wicked looking tank in 2 seconds with it. totally pleased, will purchase.

  • 3d Gamestudio A7 .....

  • im in high school and im enterested in a carrer in video game development and design but i dont know were to start can u help me out man?

  • Bleachfreak187, I sent you an email....

  • Hi good to know it helped thanks for comments.

I dont know why your college is not teaching realtime work, perhaps older lecturers who do not know much about it?

Realtime is pretty easy to learn yourself, just keep the meshes clean and look into using normal maps/parralax maps etc.

I have been busy lately but will get some more screencasts up in the coming months.

  • @CroftonGraphics5 can you send me one too??? because I too want to get in to game development. I live in Holland though and it is hard for me to get in to that stuff.

    pls help me out.

  • @bleachfreak187 you really have a small window of opportunity to work for the big companies like activision, treyarch, scs, etc... because they have millions to hire the artist they want and dont want. if your going to 3d design you could be better off as a freelancer, since getting hired by the big companies wont be easy.

  • thanks dude I'm only learning and this has helped a shit load

  • @rouncer81 I use 3ds max.
