Reducing waste while eating foods that are good for the body and earth can seem impractical. While packaging makes up 40 percent of municipal waste streams in the US, avoiding packaging is sometimes impossible. Nearly all the food we buy in the grocery store is packaged, leaving us no choice but to buy packaged food that's not always recyclable.

in.gredients revolutionizes grocery shopping as we know it. Our goal is to reduce waste by ditching packaging altogether - creating the nation's first zero-waste, package-free grocery store! in.gredients will allow customers to fill reusable containers (even ones brought from home) with their groceries, making waste reduction easy, fun, and convenient!

  • @ii53 That is one of the dumbest things I've read all week. It's quite obvious prices will be higher. But how does this have anything to do with communism? You are a absolute dolt for writing something so incredibly moronic.

  • Please tell me how I can get one of these by where I live

  • Yes yes k.o

  • Narrated by David Cross!

  • we need this everywhere

  • @ii53

Also prices will necessarily be higher on account of the increase need of staff. As bad as grocery stores are, they operates very efficiently with no more than cashiers and a optional stock clerks; operating a all bring your own container bulk grocery will require having staff at every counter to measure and weigh what goes in to the clients heavy, or light, containers.

I see this as a communist experiment, great on paper, but epic fail in practice.

  • Great concept, for people who think "local" and not far beyond their immediate community. And completely impractical in non-agricultural areas where nothing grows and everything needs to be transported in: e.g. Resolut Bay.

  • Looks like the CEO of Wallmart, Kraft and General Mills decided to rate this video hehe...

  • No it's not another Whole Foods.....this is an idea similar to what we are working on! YAY! So glad to know there are others doing this too!
