Yes but you must remember that the UK is not a natural snowy climate. Many parts of America are snowy every year without fail eg. Minnesota, Colorado, New York State etc, people there are employed by the government to specifically clear the snow 24/7 . Its a waste of time and money to do that here beacuse in 07 and 08 we had 1 inch both years and this and the previous years weve had 30 inches plus. If every year was like this it would be a good idea but a waste of money in the previous ones.

8 inches and all transportation, that includes sky and road transportation, all shut off, compare this to america, at least 12-18 inches fall, people still drive in it, some aeroplanes still take off, i know britain isnt ready for it, but they must get snow every year, the same as america, so why no preperation?

Actually, we don't get much snow AT ALL, contrary to UK being a cold country in the north of Europe.
