every game should be taken on its own merits... unfortunetly the games that are labelled as "JRPGs" don't get this equal treatment, they are all stereotyped as "turn based, emo kid, huge swords" when the games themselves are actually very diverse... and some of the stereotypes are flat-out false

Do you think that Korean RPGs fall into the same problem of JRPGs? Korean producers seem to have made many games that are somewhat like JRPGs but different in some key ways. I've played quite a few on iOS lately, Zenonia series being some of the well known ones. I've also really liked Wild Frontier. The Korean RPGs tend to have a certain sense of humor that most modern JRPGs do not. Although, I really like the Japanese developers that have a good sense of humor too like Hideo Kojima and Suda51.
