My 1999 Persian Gulf Deployment #11: Muscat, Oman - touring around the city

These videos are from my first deployment to the Persian Gulf, June-Dec, 1999. I was aboard HMCS Regina which was a part of a US Battlegroup headed by the USS Constellation aircraft carrier.

Another guy from the ship and myself toured around Muscat, Oman. It was very hot! I nearly got heatstroke after climbing up that hill, it was all I could do to get into an air conditioned restaurant and get some cold drinks into me. Beautiful city and surrounding area.

that fort you saw on top of the mountain is called AL MIRAHNI FORT in muscat fort area. that thing like a space ship u see is the INCENCE BURNER monument in RIYAM and brown ship you see is the warship of the SULTAN of OMAN . and you just docked in the SULATAN QABOOS FORT which is infront of the old market (souq) in muttrah
