The Pinto engine (Emax) was far better than the DOHC My neighbour and grandad had a 2.0 Sierra and they were always going in for repair. Head gasket went on one of them at 5k miles them at 70k the engine blew up.and grandad never abused it what so ever. Yes they were fast but thats it. Pinto's used start and run when they were fucked and they were also reliable. :)

By 1992 the Sierra was so old it was starting to smell. Totally outclassed by all rivals hence Ford throwing equipment at it to keep fleet buyers happy. The 93 Mondeo couldnt arrive soon enough.

@2litresierra My DOHC hasn't caused me any trouble at all... I wouldn't want a Sierra unless it was the DOHC
-
@CIASWE I've got a '92 Saloon, DOHC (Got vids in here of it) and it too, just keeps on running... Simply love it! Car AND Engine
-
@CobraMarty I meant no by your theory about the efficiency as wrong
-
@brigiolas About the fuel efficiency... No. I do 12 kms/Litre... VW sure as hell ain't better than the Sierra, Opel might be just as good... But, you can't compare a new car to an old car...
-
@aravikipita lol you can't compare a brand new car to an old car from late 80s early 90s.... The new car will always be better than the old one.. So that comparison ain't fair...
Besides, if you haven't had one you wouldn't know what we're talking about.. I've got a 92 2 litre DOHC and wouldn't trade it for anything

I'm a happy owner of a 1992 2 Litre DOHC! Great car, with the fabulous sportsseats!

omg 4:00, the radios from the future
FWD are crap, RWD brings the joy back to motoring, I'd have a old sierra over a new mondeo anyday.

unbelievably good car, i own a Sierra -93 hatchback with the DOHC engine, and it just keeps on running, altough with the DOHC engine that has a cam-chain, u dont want that to break :P a bit harder to replace than the cam-belt on the pinto engine
