The MS Office of Nursing Workforce (ONW), Central Mississippi Medical Center (CMMC) and Hinds Community College (HCC) will comprise the partnership to develop, implement and evaluate the Mississippi Jobs to Careers Initiative. The Initiative will provide work-based learning and career advancement models to advance and reward the front-line worker. CMMC strongly desires to provide incumbent training to frontline workers to achieve additional skills and knowledge of a unit clerk position. Curriculum will include classes offered by HCC, CMMC, and other community resources in medical terminology, computer skills, medical records management, phone etiquette, organizational skills, communication skills, and customer service to fulfill competencies needed for this the unit clerk. Employees will be offered opportunities through work based learning models to transition into classes for academic credit.
