Metal Gear Solid 4-Old Snake Loop (Graveyard Intro Theme)

Solid Snake is arguably the greatest hero in video game history. If not the greatest, then top 5 for sure. In Snake's final mission, he takes on Liquid Ocelot as Ocelot tries to take his fight against the Patriots of Metal Gear Solid 2 fame (or infamy, depending on your take of the game) This ballad is from the Old Snake Theme from Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots. Solid Snake, known as Old Snake in MGS4, is visiting the grave of Big Boss, as he realizes he's been nothing more of a pawn (and casualty) of war and all of the attrition that has been brought not only upon his life, but the lives of the people that he's been involved with over the years. This is the theme from the graveyard intro that plays when you first start the game. I also have the MP3 version of this song, but realize that I couldn't take the background noise out of the scene. really good upload. I remember hanging on the menu screen for a while listening to this. I don't know about anyone else, but i got immensly emotional at the bit near the end where you have to rapidly tap a button to make snake crawl through a fire corridor. Just the fact that he's old and ill and dieing, and nearing the end of a long hard battle. A fantastic ending to a truley brilliant series. Snake lives on!

It was a way of creating tension without having to use standard video games tropes like a clock or something.

Weird game in comparison to MGS 1-3, but incredible nevertheless.

I just started "Act 2" and I must say this game is truly amazing so far. The cut scenes are a little long but all the better. Amazing theme

The game builds from there. Act 3 is AMAZING IMO. By the time you're at the end, you feel almost breathless. Great, Great game.

@BakingPizza The cutscene's are not as long as installing the game every so often lol It's pretty cool seeing the graphics of snake smoking though and seeing the warning about how harmful smoking is lol. Worth the wait though this game was mind blowing, I have never played a bad MGS even the VR mission game was good, especially when you got further and could could grey fox

I think the most accurate description of Old Snake was actually used for his rival, Sam Fisher of the Splinter Cell series, as told by Fisher's voice actor Michael Ironside:
