@ScOpEx80 I think he's using rate mode not heading hold on the gyro. If you notice he is not touching the rudder much at all during the turn. In rate mode the wind automatically makes the tail point in the right direction. Doing those circles like that in heading hold takes a lot more practice since you always have to keep adding rudder to make sure the tail is always behind you.

@stoichiometric very frustrating i can now do forward flight, loops, rolls, hold an inverted hover but still can not fly backwards or inverted. but its all because i do not practice that much

@360kal How is it now? ( 5 months later)

Hi - do you recommend doing all learing in idle up?
Chad, I really like your lessons. I have much to learn. I have been flying for about 3 months with tail-in and side-in hovering and very basic FFF. Can you tell me how you can control the forward speed so well with the heli? Every time I try, the heli goes scooting off full speed forward. Do I need to add positive elevator or less collective, or both? Thanks for your help.

@kickbackkid1
Basically once you get into FFF you keep the heli in the turn with the elevator and adjust the height using the aileron and speed with collective. It ends up being a balancing act between all of those controls that keep the heli at a constant speed and height. With practice it will come to you. First you will be able to groove it into a turn and hold it and then you will be able to adjust it. It takes some time to learn.
Good luck! I'm glad you liked the video.

Thanks for the lessons -- really enjoyable. In this clip you talk about a guide. Is there a written lesson or practice plan somewhere?
