Where are some of you getting 1998 from? It was 1997. Even if you don't have the book, its all over the internet. Not to mention all it takes is one look at his year by year results to see that 1997 puts up a big red flag: 24 matches, 0 ATP match wins, 0 titles. No other similar results like that for any other year. By 1998 he was clean and free of Brooke and building his ranking up again.

Take it from someone who has PLAYED tennis for years, and has seen quite his share of drugs. If you even TRIED to play tennis even within days of a usage of methamphetamine, your heart would probably explode. If not, the crowd noise, and tension of tens of thousands of eyes and TV cameras on you would turn you into a mentally crippled, fidgeting tweaked out mess. It was the occasional usage during '97 that killed his spirit and desire to play.

@climz1989 Had it not been for Brook, Andre may well have held all the records. He made his own decisions, but damn I wish he had never got involved with her. I can only imagine the things he would have accomplished if he had met Steffi when he met Brook...

To make matters worse, from his book, it seems like Brooke didn't even give him much, if any, sex. She was out drinking with her friends. Maybe cheating on his dime. Not sure if she was into girls like so many girls are on the sly.
