  • Riob,

He should have done one on how to convert the "Dreaded Durbin" with the 4-7 (which is basically this same split, except with the 9-pin added)!

  • Vanni,

I don't think he'd be the perfect narrator for this kind of clip. As straight as he threw the ball I don't think he'd leave something like that.

  • Mike Should have done a average builder on the Dreaded Durbin haha

  • He already did! He filmed that average builder in Riverside in 1990. ESPN wasn't available in my area so I couldn't record it and post it for you folks to watch.

  • We bowlers should thank Mike and Bo Burton. They gave us lots of really useful tips in the Average Builders and Tip of the Week segments between matches. Thanks for the post!

  • sorry not 6 board movement i meant 5 typing error lol

  • i left the 3 4 7 in league and needed the mark so i didn't know whether to go for count or for the split so i decided to go for it... and i did it :):):):):).

my recommendations are not to make a 6 board movement but make a 14 board movement with your feet and a 7 board move with your target it will usually convert it around 1 in 4 times sometimes more often

  • Yeah you're kind of right. Although I have seen it myself (and have left it before), the 3-4-6-7-9-10 (2-4-6-7-8-10 for lefties) is an extremely rare leave that only occurs when the ball breaks SO sharply on the backend. Also, you'd shoot it the same way as he shot the split featured in this tip, the only exception is being able to take out that 9 (or 8) pin with the rest of them.

  • I actually converted this split minus the 6 pin last week in league bowling, Except I shot at it hard and straight 3-10 style with my plastic ball.

  • cool
