Freehand tattoo I did on my friend, Anthony Morrell. 6 hours to complete. The kid sat like a rock for over 6 hours. As always, I am looking forward to our next session. Neither of us have any idea where we are going from here, and that's how we like it. No stencils; no pens; no flash art; no design preparation; no uncertainty. Just the tattoo machine, skin & vision. Primal tattooing.

  • Also check out the video response by fellow tattoo artist Lobo. He's a very skilled tattoo artist and is all about freehand tattooing. Respect.

  • Very nice, not many do real "Free Hand" they all think frr hand means draw it on the skin then tattoo it. The old skewlers Like Stoney, Ed Hardy, Sailor Jerry. Free hand was NEEDLE TO SKIN. Nice video and nicee tattoo. I got a few on my channel needle to skin free hand, and I will say this is a nice piece. How long have you been tattooing? I have 25 years but now have Cubital and Carpal Tunnels and need surgery so am no longer working rightt now.

  • @lobosdesigns Hey man. Thanks for the great comment. You and I are on the same page my friend. I was just having this discussion with another tattoo artist.I mean no disrespect to other tattooers out there that draw it on first, but there is a difference. Ancient tribes didn't have thermofax machines and sharpies. I have been tattooing for about 4 years. I am very sorry to hear about your Cubital and Carpal Tunnel. You will always be an artist no matter what. very good to meet you. Much respect.

  • @DavidMatthewCarroll Well maybe after surgery I will get back in the groove. Keep the true art alive. It's great to see someone and just 4 years in doint this, so many are against it. It is the old tradition and that's how it was started and keeping that alive is great to see.

  • Thanks for the good words brother. Good luck with your surgery. I look forward to seeing you back in the mix. Respect.

  • all of my friends have tattoos. i never chose to get one because i could never think of anything i would actually want. but i think i actually would want one with your freehand work if i ever did something D: \\m//

  • @metalvocalistwanted Thanks. I really appreciate it. I love freehand tattooing because it's all about custom art and flow. Everyone is built differently. When I am tattooing a client, I feel like I am bringing out artwork that has always been there. I don't like to use stencils or flash art. I don't even like to draw on the skin prior to tattooing it. I enjoy just looking at the area that is going to be tattooed and then just going to work. The persons skin tells me what it wants. Respect.
