I just seen the director's cut and I found the movie entertaining, but with inconsistent scenes. The last half hour was brutal.

I think this movie crossed my personal line by using young kids and even a toddler. I don't have a problem with torture/rape stuff. That's what these movies are supposed to be all about. Just don't get children involved. Not in a total piece of sleaze like this.
I agree with TheMatrix72370 that Ichi the Killer was awesome. Check out my comp of director Takashi Miike's best movies, over on my channel.

the acting was terrible and the part with the baby is also terrible

Murder Set Pieces is a f*ing awsome film !!! BUT..,do NOT watch the R rated version, its weak as hell and is cut to pieces. ONLY watch the "uncut directors edition" rated NC17. It is absolutely one of the most brutal films ever.

so you doing any tutorials this year mate?

Palumbo is a hack.
-
The version of "Murder-Set-Pieces" you have reviewed is the CUT version of "M-S-P". The only way to see this film is in Palumbo's original vision and NOT the Lionsgate version (which is cut by over 23 minutes) This film has been banned in three countries, including England. M-S-P was shot in 2003 on 35mm film for 2.2 million dollars.

Maybe he hasn't seen the unrated directors cut?

pretty sick what with those scenes with the baby in. PArts of it are ok but the bits with the baby are just taking it too far. This world is sick enough and films like this don't really help

I think iy was all about trying to shock. There was no effort made to make a good movie.

Just curious. What's the most recent blood and gore splatter soaked film you've seen that you would call a 5 out of 5 star classic? My answer to that question would be Ichi the killer.

Wow I'd almost have to say the most RECENT splatter fest i've really enjoyed is Sean Of The Dead. I also liked 'Murder Party' and 'Automoton Transfusion' Nothing rellay fantastic lately, though.
