i like this song, but he makes it seem like punk is about being as broke as possible. uh, ramones, sex pistols? i think they might have made a few dollars in their day and they were originators...

good points though about pink and rancid, bad religion & brittney, etc. fuck that was lame. then again, i have never met either of them, so i shouldn't judge. pink might be an alright person, definitely can't stand her music though...

i believe music scenes don't die because bands make money.

It's not about "hating the rich". It's about that fucked mind frame and goal of the very musician who lost the heart, soul, and vision that he may have had. I mean Christ all mighty. Punk has lost its meaning. It's so dull now! Punk is NOT NOFX, Total Chaos, Bad Religion, The Casualties, etc., anymore. The fact that there's this continuous idea that Punk should be the mind frame trap of the 1970's is utter shit! IT'S NOT! It was supposed to fucking evolve! Thankfully, you have artists like Dave Dictor, Greg Ginn and Chuck Dukowski who continue to do what they have understood all along. Punk means freedom to evolve. Don't stay in the same rut. MOVE!

Also, what it's truly about is being free to create a form of music never before heard. That's what Punk was from the beginning. And due to the fact that the corporate world took that and raped it, killed it, and spewed its results to the masses. The masses (majority) walk around thinking that music is supposed to sound the way they have been taught.
