How could I have a Neil Sedaka channel going here WITHOUT this classic song? This one, sung for his then-girlfriend and fellow pop star Carole King, earned a #9 ranking on the Billboard charts in 1959 and was the boost Sedaka needed after the failure of "Crying My Heart Out For You". It insured that Sedaka would not be a one-hit wonder after his success with "The Diary" the previous year. "Oh, Carol!" also reached the #1 spot on the Italian pop charts for four weeks in January 1960. It appears on several albums, including the RCA "Greatest Hits" album from 1963, the "Stairway To Heaven" compilation from 2004, and the "Love Songs" compilation from 2005. Enjoy!

this song reminds me of martin "streetam" who lived in the masonettes in nunhead, i will always remember his mauve italian jacket, such a dickhead, and i was only 11, go figure.

Don't think they really ever went together....Carole King was Neil's babysitter as both were growing up in the same neighborhood. Not unusual that his first crush was on her! Within a few years she was living with James Taylor.
