  • @lckyslvrknglvr It is not a trick just marketing. I spent $17.95 on a book Pat Parelli "Natural Horse-Man-Ship". It has level 1 at the back but the 209 pages before it really helps you understand the techniques, horse psychology and more. I am working with a horse that was just green broke before me. Spirited 7yr old, 16+ hands, 1300lb, winning running 1/4 genetics and largely untrained but well cared for by his former older aged owner. Using what I have learned from the book works wonders.

  • the bond you have with your horse is absolutely amazing! i have been starting parelli, and sorry to critique you but here is a helpful hint of advice that i find useful, when asking my horse to back away from me i begin by putting a dirty look on my face and moving one of my feet to the twelve o'clock position, this suggests that the horse moves away from me. much like what a horse would do by putting their ears back :) then i would move onto wiggling my finger! :)

  • @lckyslvrknglvr - Like you, I leaned by watching horses and 'commecting' with them. But not everyone has the time or the talent to do that. Trainers, in person and/or on DVD, can help many people who would not 'get it' otherwise. No matter how good we are at something, there is always more to learn, from horses, and from other talented horsemen. ('Men' here in the gender-nuetral sense.)

  • I REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THIS VIDEO. I LEARNED ALOT OF THE SAME TECHNIQUES AT ONE OF MY COLLEGE CLASSES... I CAN NOW PRACTICE THIS WHEN I GET MY HORSE NEXT MO!

  • Thanks, seeing how it is all suppose to look is very helpful.

  • @theevilstriker

he does praise her almost everytime he signs the horse to come to him he gives a neck rub. you can spoil the relationship by giving too much praise/treats just like a child. :] it's good to give neck rubs while performing and then when they are done give them a few carrots or slices of apple.

  • Ok how did you train the horse at 8:48 tail to go to the beat of the music :) lol -- great to watch thanks for posting

  • this is a beautiful relationship. the thing is.. parelli and other natural horsemanship trainers TRICK you into buying their DVDs and instructions. ive studied horse psychology and behavior and i have acomplished more than this with my horse by studying his body language.

  • what are you doing by 3.31 ??

  • Great vid, although would be nice to see some praising of the horse too ;)
