One of the most gorgeous songs ever. It is NOT, however, Florida State's alma mater (which is unfortunate). This is a bad recording, but I work with what I have :)

Here it is fifty-four years since my graduation and I still get a lump in my throat when I hear that wonderful hymn written by my FSU Glee Club director, J. Dayton Smith. It means more to me that the fight song or war chant or original alma mater.

I am not a chief. I first heard this song before I even stepped foot to FSU and even sang along when they played it at convocation. It's about to be my third year now and this song just keeps me in perspective. It's great to look back on how much pride and expectations this song gave me of FSU.
