On September 10, 2010, twenty four members of the Arrowhead Wine Enthusiasts club headed to Solvang for a weekend of wine tasting. This video shows just a short clip of the adventure. On Friday, we met up with Demetria Estates and toured the vineyard and winery with Micheal, and tasted the wines with the owner's son, Alexis. On Saturday, we had an organized tour with Wine EdVentures (Shawn had great contacts with all the wineries). We started out at Grassini Family Vineyards, and met with Mateus and Jessica, who showed us the vineyard and winery, and we tasted Grassini and Sanguis wines. Next was a tasting and lunch at Rusack, followed by wine, olive oil, and basalmic tastings at Foley. We ended the day at Palmina winery in Lompoc with a little wine and food pairings (Italian wine is all about food). Dinners were on our own, but most went to Trattoria Grappolo and Matteis Tavern. A number of club members made it a four day weekend, and a lot of wine was purchased...and we learned a few new things!
