I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback too but she never does that! You have a wonderfully funny dog.

@jamesjr934 - Wow, people will believe most anything they see on the web. Any creature with a spine has a chance at spina bifida. The ridge is a cowlick and nothing more. Hair growing in the opposite direction. Ridged RR are susceptible to dermoid sinus over their slickback brethren and this can be felt at birth. So should they breed it out? Probably, but most likely won't happen in our lifetime. The ridge came from a wild dog, found naturally and not bred into the Hotentot dog.

For show maybe, but for a pet a slickback is no less of a dog in fact they're a better dog, they have 0% chance of spina bifida while a ridgeback has about a 10% chance. Remember slickbacks come from the same litter as ridgeback thus only difference is the ridge and less health issues. Why would you recommend to someone not to buy a healthier dog?

@jamesjr934 - Wow, that's assuming a whole lot from my statement and would be 100% incorrect. I would not pay for one and nor should anybody else. However, I'd by all means adopt one without reservation.
