  • the shampoo did, but i'm guilty of not using it as directed. it's such a hassle to spend so much time on my hair - washing, detangling, and twisting (my hair is natural) EVERY day. i think part of me just didn't bother because i didn't feel like it would work anyway. i wont know until i try. i'm getting my prescription refilled and i'm going to be diligent about the instructions. i hope it works.

  • @iroxabunnytail There is a ketoconazol shortage right now so you may need to talk with your doc about alternatives. Make sure the directions are ones you CAN live with. If you can't wash everyday, ask for solution options instead of shampoos. Good luck!

  • what is the name of the solution you used? or better yet where is the website that you saw it for.

  • @GarrickG I use clobetsol and it is prescription only. My point with the website is not that any ONE medication is right but rather, when the doc tries to prescribe shampoos and expensive foams check to see if a liquid solution is available. They're easier to use with locs and typically less expensive because they are the older version.

  • Great video :-). I will go and check out the rest of the series.

I have dealt with SD for years. I was on Loprox for a while as well. The last few years I've been finding success and relief, no itchiness as well as not being anxious about dry patches, using a a tspn or so of mineral oil and massaging it directly onto my scalp after rinsing or shampooing. I shampoo or rinse daily and have had such a positive experience with the mineral oil after years of complete frustration.

  • @MsTrycie Mineral oil is an oil school SD, eczema, cradle cap remedy that often works. One of the reasons so many have improvement with sulfur 8 (I'm anti for petroleum), Kerecare etc and it's used in P & S liquid. I don't want to use it straight for toxicity reasons but I am not anti mineral oil in dandruff preparations as long as the rest of the ingredients are fine. It's funny you mentioned it cause it works and I remember my mom rubbing my patches down w/ it as a kid lol

  • THANK YOU! This video made me tear up b/c u r the first person I have seen describe exactly what Im going through. It isn't "just dandruff," and I've known that for years. It wasn't until recently that a doctor finally listened. I got a 2% prescription of keto... shampoo and an a fluocinolone topical solution. the topical solution doesnt seem to do much.

  • @OAG3K good luck at the dermatologists

  • Thanks for this video. I am a brown male growing up in Canada and I have lost a lot of hair over the period of 5 years. My doctor told me I may have this condition and I just got a recommendation to see a dermatologist.

  • @CherishMyDaughter That is a huge compliment, Thank you!
