The search for our Silat roots in Sumatra

This is a little video i made which shows the journey in flight we made through Sumatra to get in touch with our silat roots. It was always a dream to find the silat source where it all started. We travelled from city to city and from school to school. Every evening our skills got tested and they would show their skills. And finally at the Sasaran Silek Kubu Durian (Kota Padang) the name of Pak Willy Thomson sr. was found in the family tree book. He is the founder of our style Paulu Sembilan. At the end you can see a nice slow-motion of our Guru Pendaka Sati Batuah Roy Smith and Pendeka Rajo Thomas Ruttel. Nice detail, the hand movements are placed on the body to put the opponent out of balance.
