This organ is a Hammond CV. If played without Leslie, - with its unique own scanner-vibrato, it would sound even better! Jerry Burke was a very fine organist!
Ever notice many of the great organists have their own adaptation to technique? Jerry Burke plays like he's at the controls of a switchboard. Bob Ralston also had his own approach to stage presence and sometimes you'd see him curl his fingers under rapidly. I love this school of players though, they might have been poked fun at for always smiling and being squares, but they played however they wanted and laughed all the way to the bank.
Jerry suffered from cancer beginning around 1963. Thats why Bob Ralston took over. Jerry made apperances as health permitted. Or course he left us in February, 1965. I liked his music much more than Bob Ralstons. A matter of style for me, I suppose.
I knew that Lawrence Welks used Hammond long before they started using the Thomas organ. This is an old Hammond C-3 electronic organ. I like Thomas organs better than the earlier Hammond organs (Tone wheel)
Most people watching the Welk show mainly associate his organists with Bob Ralston. Long before Bob joined the Welk show, Jerry Burke tickled the keys of a tonewheel Hammond. Jerry made several reunion appearances on the show during Ralston's tenure and passed away unexpectedly decades ago.

Actually this not a C3. it is either a C2 or CV since there are no chorus vibrato tabs to the left side above the reverse preset keys.
