  • Yes, a heavy object resting on top would do the same thing. You're just looking to provide uniform pressure on the "sandwich."

  • Great Idea. It would also work for my wife's flower press (dried flowers)

  • A brick is way cheaper, besides it frees up my drill press to do other things.......like droll holes.

  • Would a heavy thing on it do the same?

  • Clever, but not all drill presses were created equal (mine, for onstance, doesn't have a lock-down mechanism * yet *)
