so.we can record an 1080p video with the new ML software.that is if im not mistaken.but the downside is that it will cannot record any sound. can I use an external mic such as the rode mic to record sound?please reply ASAP

We investigated the audio thing very intensive .. we even opened a 50D for mic connectors - so i guess we got bad news. No chance to record audeo so far. you gonna need a external recorder like a zoom H2 or H4. Then synchronise it in postproduction.

ISO between 1 and 100 ? Interesting - maybe we add that :)
I believe the key to good 360p quality in this video is .. no big movement. The codec likes no movement and gives you sharp pictures in stead..

i gonna need to set a bootflag on firmware version 1.0.7
then update to 1.0.8 to run ML ..but it is all in the thread i will not answer installation related stuff here.

stable and easy to install - you gonna need some patience .. if u want to try some feature now follow the 50D Thread on the chdk : google: "chdk 50D initial port" and read it very carefully
