I own both a 99 rs-t 420a and a 96 gst 4g63 put about 3 grand into both of them 420a was the first build in 2005. built the 4g63 with stock internals about 2 years ago and have bad to say about either motor all i know is that my 18 lb boosted 4g gets owned by my 16 lbs 420a bout 1 car lenth in quarter , given all new internals in the 420.. and is actually pretty consistant against 4g63s only lost to a gsx on 16 lbs and i was pulling way harder up top alost caught him. awd has girly advantage

If I had the money to, I would buy, restore ,build, and drive all the platforms of the Talon and Eclipse 1.8's, 2.0's 4G37, 420A, our beloved 4G63 N/A and turbo models. These cars are beautiful. the 4G63T car platform is like a woman, you treat her right and she'll treat you right. With her older parts you beat on her and she'll get you back somewhere. Treat your Eclipses and Talons with some TLC, these race cars deserve it.

420A's are in fact part of the DSM plartform. DSM lasted all the way up to 1995. yeah sure made by chrysler but now true DSM enthusiasts know and respect all DSM platforms because they all can be very very good engines if you now what your doing and how to do it. spencer8806 you have to be doing something wrong for things to go like that. they're over 20 years old of course parts will be worn. i had a 420A I rebuilt broke it in properly and NEVER had a PROBLEM with it. Do your research bro...

I assume you now what DSM means, Diamond Star Motors which, Chrysler and Mitsubishi joined together to kick Honda domestic ass :) Therefore 420a's 1995 to1999 talon/eclipse are part of the DSM family. Do your research before making False statements.The headgasket is a easy fix, Noob.There's two mods to fix this minor problem, if you read up on it you'll know. Besides, when the 4g63 is broken you need another Dsm to pickup parts.

420A is a chrysler engine, NOT A DSM!!!

stop standing up for 420A's, they suck... I have owned 2 of them personally, and I also own a 4g63 in a '96 GSX, the 4g63 shits all over my 420A all day long. BTW, all you 420A guys? how's that head gasket treating you? LOL!
