Tesla Motors invited me to attend the exclusive premier of their Model S electric car at their Menlo Park store on April 8, 2009. The Tesla Roadster is the only performance electric vehicle currently for sale. It has a range of 244 miles and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds on electricity alone. But it's an expensive niche-market vehicle. Now they are preparing to enter the mainstream market with what could be the first mass-produced highway-capable electric vehicle, the Model S luxury sedan. This video was shot on location at the event. bay area, baby

  • hahaa GM they sign today they will make in chaina hhaaa

  • Yup. It´s all bout keeping the capital cost down for the consumer. Because that´s the business model they are used to with current cars. Advertise based on cost per mile. Or maybe even more intuitive miles per cost (x miles per dollar)?

  • That Model S looks so cool. Looks so roomy. I love the display system. That navigation system is great. I love my iphone for search maps, but that big display is great. I hope Tesla Motors adopts the Better Place method of pay per mile or month. This way they can separate the cost of the battery from the car.
