Taiyo Kogyo uses its original software to provide design, structural analysis, quantity survey, and manufacturing services for a wide range of film-structure buildings, including the roof of Tokyo Dome. At the 2008 Architecture and Construction materials exhibition, the company displayed Shade Azul, a roof protection to be used in child care facilities. Shade Azul is a transparent film can reduce the ever growing adverse damage caused by the ultraviolet rays and allows some visible light to pass through. While blocking ultraviolet rays Shade Azul provides a bright, open space as well as a peace of mind. The Shade Azul uses specially manufactured polyester-fiber fabric that has much more elasticity than a conventional tent. It doesn't produce any carcinogenic substances such as formaldehydes and other poisonous gases that are the cause of sick house syndrome. The following types of Shade Azul are available: normal, waterproof, light proof, and heatproof types which users can choose from that meets their needs. Taiyo Kogyo is planning to expand its customer base not only for children facilities but also for industrial applications.
