@siant666 well, if we're talking about capoeira, is useful as far as i know, just dont use the ginga and go for kicks that deal heavy damage.

@needlefeast01 I take it you studied Tae Kwon Do or Karate as a kid and think you stand for all martial arts by preaching the bullshit that your instructors taught you huh? I've learned my "bullshit attitude" first practicing Greco-Roman wrestling in High School and then taking up Brazillian Jui Jitsu nowadays, there is no such thing as "mercy" or "restraint" in a real fight. Or maybe you watched the Karate Kid so many times that the truth hits a nerve?

I don't see any sense in answering you as I doubt you really have any MA experience. You just won't get it. So have fun playing Skyrim or whereever you learnt that bullshit attitude of yours, which is totally narrowminded. Sorry..my bad. I fed the troll..

@needlefeast01 All Martial Arts were created due to neccessity of war either for protection or conquest, that's why they're called MARTIAL arts for a reason. What exactly does philosophy or "understanding your MA" have to do with winning a fight? A physical confrontation doesn't decide who's right, but who's left. And if the point of martial arts is to be better at being the one who's left standing, where does your "phylosophy" bullshit come in?

@siant666 That is wrong. It is not about winning, but surviving. I never said that life is like a movie. You still didn't tell me where you gained your 'insight', which is pretty narrowminded btw. It is called martial ART for a reason. The philosophy comes with the training, if you truly want to understand what you are doing. If you don't care, then you're attitude will only get you as far from one fight to another.

@needlefeast01 There's only one truth in every combat scenario, winning is everything. It doesn't matter if you're humble or calm or have some phylosophical highground you will still get your ass kicked. Real life isn't some movie with a moral story, the ones who win are the strongest, fastest, most talented or the ones with better training. Fighting isn't some sort of holy act that makes you a better person, it's just fighting, a physical confrontation, no more, no less.....

@siant666 your opinion is kinda stereotype. Not that I blame you for it. If I were in a real combat situation about life and death, I share your opinion. Whether me or him. Easy as that. But when I'm trying to prevent myself from getting a beating I don't have to destroy my opponent completely. And how did you get your 'warrior born'-attitude? The people who understand the MA are far more humble and calm, than the people who are the aggressive gung-ho-guys. See this conversation for instance...

@08marco1991 then what do you have left? Street fighting? Flashy kicking? In a real fight it won't save you against anyone who knows what he's doing....

@siant666 cool, you know the meaning behind it, your just missing one thing about using the style in a actual fight, the ginga and other decoratives or useless moves arent mandatory.
