Christmas could be merry or it could be rough but at the heart of the holiday is the celebration of God's greatest gift to the world: His only begotten son Jesus Christ. Give the gift of hope through Operation Christian Child.

  • @derekdb2- that is an old, tired argument. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard it, I could send a lot more shoeboxes to children who would appreciate them.

  • Thanks for Open our eyes. May God bless you Samaritan Purse.

  • I'm so happy for all those children who got those presents! May god bless them =D

  • One of my favorite organizations.

  • Jesus is the reason for the season

    FOCUS :)

  • @1954julie I agree. Just by someone talking about how we shouldn't celebrate Christmas has just turned the focus AWAY from the meaning and from Operation Christmas Child

That was the opposite of the original objective of Christmas.

The commenters on the "pagan origins of Christmas" should know this

Pagans today do not celebrate Christmas. They do not bring a tree into the house and decorate it or do advent. My pagan friends do NOT do those so-called "pagan traditions" ever wonder why not?

  • There are millions of pagan gods out there, and each of them have a birthday... one of them is BOUND to be on your birthday, so we shouldn't celebrate anything because there's probably some pagan holiday on each day of the year

Christmas has never declared a pagan holiday. Never.

There are millions of things that have pagan origins, and they mean NOTHING. It's not like they have any power in them or truth in them. The objective is to turn the attention to Christ.

    Cereal also has pagan origins.

  • Ok I know Christmas is over but I cried watching this video. My New Year's Resolution is to change the way I do Christmas this year. Huge props to Samaritan's Purse for changing our world one step at a time!!

  • amazing!

  • Yes you're correct BUT we don't celebrate a lot of things on the actual date they happen so why the angst? The issue is remembering the birth of our Lord and the giving of gifts to these children who are is such desperate circumstances through no fault of their own. Stress about issues that matter not the fact that we don't celebrate Christmas in September when it be the correct time. We have so much, lets be generous, be thankful we live in countries with freedom to express opinions.
