  • Hmm.. i was also extremly good artist who can draw a portraits of likeness of people infront of me when i was going to art school. well a lot of students around me dropped out of school simplely because they thought they could never compete with someone like me in real world. i still feel bad about that. here we are feeling bad for the kid because he couldnt play? Just look at the bright side. he made news story of sports illustrated no less. he should be proud of that. how many 9 year old can?

  • "well a lot of students around me dropped out of school simplely because they thought they could never compete with someone like me in real world. i still feel bad about that."

That's exactly what I'm talking about, unearned guilt. You didn't do anything except be good at something, for which there is no reason to feel guilty.

  • Hmm... i am not so sure about that. in little leagues its all about fair play. what if there was a mutant kid only 9 years old but 9 feet tall and he wants to play in little league basketball? i do feel bad for the kid. but..you have to have a limit i think in little leagues.USA worldcup soccer prodigy in 2002 was a 15 year old kid. can he play in little leagues? if you asked him to play in little league soccer team he will laugh at you.

  • So move the kid up of course, but for goodness sake, don't tell him he can't pitch! That's just evil, plain and simple.

  • The vortex in the maelström of that 'unearned guilt' is 'original sin'.

This is also pointed out in The JohnGalt speech (I'm certain that you're aware of this MrBeethoven7; I'm just making sure you realize the magnitude of the adversary and, through the process of Induction, the correct response.

    (A $ A)

  • Ohhhh you bet. I considered mentioning original sin in the video, but decided to keep things more concretely tied to the specific baseball incident.

But yeah, nobody does unearned guilt better than the Catholics.
