No way. At 1.03 there's a blanket made from home-made stuffed toys - the kind that aunts and grandmas make for children in the family. The title is More Love Hours Than Can Ever be Repaid. It's about the toys as commodities in an economy of gift exchange, where the value is generated by time and effort invested in making the toy as an expression of love. Kelley wrote clearly about this at the time. The child abuse/neglect interpretation came from reviewers, like he says here, and he ran with it.
