A common problem with LCD monitors and TV's is a bad capacitor. When this occurs, the power light will blink on and off for a long time before the monitor eventually powers on. Some manufacturers will fix this problem for free (Samsung often does) even if the equipment is out of warranty, so it's worth a phone call. ViewSonic told me I was on my own. Here is our funky but practical fix. Do this at your own risk. We take no responsibility for fire, explosions, earthquakes, elctrical shock, etc.
