  • Psalm 51:10-12 "Create a pure heart in me, O God, and put a new and loyal spirit in me. Do not banish me from your presence; do not take your holy spirit away from me. Give me again the joy that comes from your salvation, and make me willing to obey you." (GNT)

  • This psalm will always have power. Its the Word of God. So simple and yet so beautiful. Thank you Lord.

  • @geistlingster "...you can never really win someone over with intellect. If you can be argued into a faith, you can be argued out of it."

    Very well said.

  • @bluerose99 I meant that that death was the final atonement. No other prophets after him are needed. He will return one day, I don't deny this.

I dont really bother with huge religious debates on youtube. They are so meaningless. Plus you can never really win someone over with intellect. If you can be argued into a faith, you can be argued out of it.

  • @geistlingster :) So that's unusual, because most Christians I know would believe that Christ will return again. I'm glad this did not escalate into one of those classic youtube religious debates that get way too out of hand and uncomfortable.

  • @bluerose99 I was going to say the same too in respect to being respectful to your faith. As a Christian, the concept of continual revelation is not compatible because according to my faith, Jesus died once and for all the sins of humanity. That was the end and it was good enough. No other prophets or message is required. As to being metaphorical and literal that would be the job of theologians.

  • @geistlingster but a lot of the Bible is in metaphors, so how do you know what's metaphorical and what's not? And before you say that everything in the Bible should be taken word for word and isn't metaphorical, then explain Revelations to me. I am in no ways trying to get rid of your beliefs, because I understand and respect you, and I admire your dedication to your faith. But it's important to understand others, too.

  • @bluerose99 well then according to that statement Jesus was a liar then, cause the verse pretty sums up that he is the only way. No one else.

  • @geistlingster Christ was a messenger of God, he was the Son of God, and Bahai's believe this. But we also believe in progressive revelation; that each messenger of God was correct for their time but naturally since the world progresses and changes so often and quickly, a new messenger of God is needed to apply the worship of God to new lifestyles and a new time frame.

  • @geistlingster "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...14And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:1, 14 meaning Jesus was God as thus the only way to God is, technically, through God. The Bahai Faith began in 1844, the year of The Great Disappointment, and Christ returned that year in the form of The Báb and Bahá'u'lláh.

  • @Maria2510 Cause Switchfoot isn't pressing Jesus enough
