Gaeland Priebe gives a brief history of Rama Behera, from his childhood in India to the formation of his cult in Shawano, Wisconsin.

For 35 years, Rama Behera has led his group from the small town of Shawano, Wisconsin. Members travel from neighboring states to take part in this group which goes by the official name of Followers of the Lord Jesus. Rama's group embraces parts of Christianity and Judaism while rejecting traditional western organized Christianity.

Former members tell shocking stories of abuse of children and adults. Former Rama followers, Elina Lane and Gaeland Priebe spoke at the Leo J. Ryan Education Foundation Conference in October of 2001 and sat down to share their experiences with me.

I was in the cult from 73-80 and stood watch while my high-school piers drove by and screamed profanities. We used to give chase to drive bye's I know from experience these folks are deranged but most of them, good intentioned but very deceived. It's good to be free and look forward someday to walking their compound after the Sheriff sale and repossessions takes place. I shoveled a lot of that sand by hand and pick up truck.

My dad was doing work and needed to pull into their driveway for 5 minutes to take readings on a radio tower nearby, and they called the police. My dad and his coworker faught them in court and won.

You know my father was born and raised in Shawano Wisconsin which we have moved back here and are living in the family home, But my dad told me that these people came from Minnesota. They were kicked out of Minnesota and moved here to Shawano. Sadly this compound is right by our family home. In-fact there is a house of theirs on my street. Talk about a creepy place. I would like to know where they get all the dirt from. Its like they are underground!!!
